Flex fuel vehicles more choices

:
Owning a flex fuel vehicle gives motorists options beyond high gas prices at the pump. Depending on the fuel’s availability and local taxes, you could save as much as one third at the pump by fueling up your car with E85, the ethanol/gasoline blend popular with flex fuel vehicles. As additional service stations add flex fuel to their available fuel options, more drivers will consider this alternate fuel source to save money and to help the environment. However, before you make the switch, your vehicle must be designed to run on E85 in the first place. Fortunately, select auto manufacturers are jumping in by offering vehicles that can operate with either E85 or straight gasoline. Let’s take a look at the current offerings available to American consumers.

Surprisingly, not many of the vehicles from Japanese automakers have flex fuel capabilities. Toyota and Honda are concentrating on hybrid technology while also exploring hydrogen power. The American automakers have taken the lead in this all important endeavor and the following vehicles from General Motors, Ford, and DaimlerChrysler all have FFV models available for consumers:

General Motors:

Chevrolet Silverado

Chevrolet Avalanche

GMC Sierra

Chevrolet Suburban

GMC Yukon

Chevrolet Tahoe

Chevrolet Impala

Chevrolet Malibu

Ford Motor Company:

Lincoln Town Car

Ford F-Series

Mercury Gran Marquis

Ford Crown Victoria

Ford Taurus

DaimlerChrysler:

Dodge Durango

Dodge Ram

Dodge Caravan

Chrysler Town & Country

Chrysler Sebring

Dodge Stratus

In addition, several foreign manufacturers also offer E85 technology including: Mercedes and Nissan on current models, while Isuzu and Mazda on past models. Just so you know, not all versions of each model listed have flex fuel capability; check with the dealer to make certain that your model is indeed flex fuel capable.

Yes, the flex fuel movement is growing and as new stations come on line and more vehicles become available, look for consumers to select flex fuel vehicles in greater numbers. Add in two big side benefits of reduced emissions and less dependency on foreign oil, and flex fuel vehicles make a heck of a lot of sense. Will you be going the flex fuel vehicle route?

Tips on selling your vehicle

Many car buyers opt to sell their car themselves rather than haggle with the dealer over trade allowance and muddy the waters. Selling a car can be a lot of work, but there are some things you can do to make your vehicle much more marketable and get a better price.

To sell a vehicle, you will need to price it, make any necessary preparations for sale, and find a buyer. The first thing you should do is be realistic about what you have and why you are selling it. If it is on its last leg, acknowledge that and price it accordingly. However, if it is a newer car in good condition, you should take that into account as well.

In order to determine the value of your vehicle, you should consult the major online sources like Kelley Blue Book, NADA, and Edmunds. Be sure to look at trade, retail, and private party values from each source to get a well rounded idea of your vehicle’s potential value. A quick search to see what the same model is selling for in your area is another way to find a decent price for your vehicle. If you are asking several thousand more than everyone else, there should be a good reason, but you should be sure to leave some room for negotiations.

Some cars are very marketable with little or no work, but many can benefit from a little bit of maintenance or attention to appearance. Taking your vehicle to a mechanic and having a state inspection done is cheap and will ensure the buyer can license and register the vehicle without making any repairs, as well as make you aware of any issues. Many small things like squeaky brakes can leave a bad impression on potential buyers, but a mechanic can fix this with a simple cleaning. An oil change, replacing old air filters, wipers, and topping off the fluids will make your vehicle seem well maintained.

Although having your vehicle professionally detailed is not necessary, a thorough cleaning, inside and out, will help you get top dollar for your vehicle. Using Armor All on the interior and tires, replacing ugly floor mats, and applying a coat of wax will make your vehicle as attractive as possible.

It is possible to sell your vehicle by sticking a sign in the window or through personal networking, but listing your car in the local paper or an online source is probably your best bet. Remember, it only takes one curious caller to buy your car, so try to write an ad that focuses on your vehicle’s strong points like mileage, age, equipment, appearance, or reliability. Whether your contact info is for a phone number or email address, think about a quick and honest pitch for your vehicle, but remember that you cannot sell the vehicle over the phone, so try to arrange a test drive if the caller sounds promising.

If you do these things and are willing to bargain, you should not have much trouble selling your vehicle.

Need debt consolidation - how to do it with a cash out mortgage

Taking care of your debts can be done rather quickly by getting a cash out mortgage. A cash out mortgage is actually a first mortgage and it will require you to refinance your existing one. There are some real advantages by doing it this way - such as getting the lowest interest rate for any loan. Here is how you can go about getting that new mortgage for you debt consolidation.

A cash out mortgage allows you to get the equity out of your home's equity by refinancing your first mortgage, which pays that off, and by adding to the loan the amount of equity that you want. The lender, of course, will determine exactly how much of your equity you can get. This will depend on your credit score and your ability to repay the loan.

Getting the equity out of your home for debt consolidation allows you to do it with the cheapest type of loan possible - a first mortgage. You want to time it right, though, and watch the market for dips in the interest rate in order to get the best interest rate possible. Then you will want to lock your rate and remortgage. Wait for the interest rate to be at least 1% below what you are paying now.

You may also want to reduce the amount of repayment time by about five years. This may raise your monthly payment slightly, but it will save you many tens of thousands of dollars if you have more than ten years left. Since the object is to get out of debt as soon as possible, this is a good way to do it. Not only will this method allow you to have your debt consolidation, but it will also give you a brand new start – as long as you take some good steps to bring further debt under control.

The equity that is available in your home is calculated by the present value of your home minus whatever you still owe. The balance is the equity. However, you only want to borrow a maximum of 80% of the value of the home so that you do not need to get Private Mortgage Insurance.

Getting a new first mortgage on your home, though, will mean that you should be planning on living in it for at least another seven years or more. The cost of refinancing will be similar to that of getting a mortgage in the first place, and it will take a few years to get back the cost.

Once you get your cash out mortgage, you can do with the money as you wish. The first thing, though, is to consolidate that debt by paying it off, and then see what is left for those extras. Home improvements are always a great way to use some of that money which will bring you the greatest returns in the long run.

Be sure to get several quotes before you get that new mortgage. Wise debt control starts by being careful in all of your purchases. This gives you the greatest amount of savings, and allows you to stay in control. And, hopefully, you will never have to worry about a need to consolidate those debts again.

Learn how to get high pr links

In order to rank high in the search engine results (especially on Google) you need a series of elements, such as unique content, freshly updated web pages and, of course, plenty of links from high PR sites. “PR” actually refers to Google’s algorithm – Page Rank – used to determine the importance of a web page in relation with the others.

High PR websites are considered by Google to be authority sites and their web pages are often displayed among the top ten results during a search. For any webmaster who wants to promote their business, getting high PR links is essential.

But how can a young website get important links that will help it boost its popularity? Most webmasters that own high PR websites will not consider a link exchange with a website that has a PR of zero – this brings the high PR sites absolutely no benefits as far as search engine ranking is concerned. There are, however, a few ways to get links from websites that are deemed important by Google:

* Create a unique website that will impress other webmasters. This is the only way to get high PR sites to link to your new site. If the webmaster of an important site sees that your own website offers something complementary to his topic, and if you offer high quality content and an excellent visual appearance, you might just be considered for a link exchange.

* Stay within reasonable boundaries – don’t go asking for link exchanges from PR 6 or PR 7 websites – they probably get dozens of link exchanges each day, and unless your site is truly exceptional chances are they will not give your link exchange request any chance.

* Use online resources that allow you to post your own links. You can get some nice links from Wikipedia, the encyclopedia you can edit yourself. Just make sure to become a constant “Wikipedian” user, and add valuable content to the website – with a reference link towards your website. Most Wikipedia pages are PR6 and upwards, so this is a great source of links – just don’t become a spammer!

* Blogs, forums and other types of online communities might also allow you to post links. Some of these groups are very popular and have high PR, and if you become a member you might be able to post a few links every now and then.

* Article submission may also get you some nice one-way, high PR links. Although chances are that you will not have your articles published on blogs and websites with a PageRank over 3 or 4, that’s still an excellent start for a new website. You can add your articles to directories like:

o MyContentBuilder. com

o MyPetContent. com

o Buzzle. com

o EzineArticles. com

Article submission can be tedious, which is why you may want to consider an automatic article submitter. It will submit one article to over 30 directories in half an hour. To watch a video on how to accomplish this, go to:

o 1trac. com/dt/t/Article_Submitter_Video. php

* Automated link exchanges – webmasters using automated link exchange websites are also less likely to dismiss your link exchange requests. A great resource for automatic link exchanging is:

o MyLinkMachine. com

Successful investing for income in shares or forex

Investment for income is generally a long-term proposition. It implies stability and it makes particularly good sense for people who do not expect to become market experts or security analysts.

In fact, there are respected authorities who state flatly that the investor who seeks anything more than income from securities must be classed as a speculator, a risky role to play for any but the most sure-footed professional.

Long term, it should be noted, does not mean forever. It does not mean buy-and-forget. Whatever your holdings, you should review them several times a year and stay alert for news indicating whether the prospects are good that your companies will continue to maintain their present level of earnings.

Unless you have strong reasons for dissatisfaction with an income stock, however, there is little to be gained by switching. Generally speaking, there is not enough difference in the yield, say, from two good-quality utility company stocks to justify the expense of selling one and buying the other. (Although 100 shares of a stock paying $3 would produce $50 more income annually than one paying $2.50, it would take more than a year to rationalize the commissions and taxes paid to sell the latter and buy the former).

Dividends have their own way of accumulating. Given the steady upward trend of stocks in this century, a well-chosen security will reward the investor who holds it patiently. In even five years there can be a dramatic increase in yield. Take, for instance, Central Illinois Public Service CIP on the ticker tape—a moderately well-rated small utility company serving agricultural, mining, and manufacturing areas of central and southern Illinois. In 1953 it hit a low of 17⅛ which meant a 6.7 per cent return in a $1.20 dividend. In 1955 the dividend was upped to $1.35; in 1956 it went to $1.60; in 1958 to $1.68; and in 1959 to $1.76. It is now $1.92.

Meanwhile, its price, reflecting the increased dividend, has more than doubled. At a recent quotation of 44, the yield was a respectable, but not unusual 4.3 per cent. The investor who bought at the 1953 low, however, is now receiving a quite spectacular 10.7 per cent return.

At this point, day-to-day dips and rises in Central Illinois Public Service mean little to the investor of seven years' standing. By now the dividend would have to be cut more than a third before he found himself where he started, and 64 per cent—to 70 cents—before he reached the 4 per cent return of the man who bought at 40. These drastic cuts are not inconceivable. But the cushion for the investor who bought in 1953 is considerable. There would have to be some quite violent reversals in the price and prospects of CIP before he would be moved to sell out.

The problem of stability is a beguiling one. For many investors it represents the compromise between safety and risk. Safety, as we will see, offers a discouragingly low return. Risk is the privilege of those who can afford it exhilarating when one has dared and won, but painfully, most truly felt by the loser. Somewhere in between, most investors decide, there must be a sensible course, commensurately rewarding and so there seems to be. Stability is the touchstone. The gauges of stability are many.

The one hazard is that they are inevitably based on past performance. No one can say for sure when the downhill slide will begin, when the earnings will diminish, when the seemingly unshakable dividend will be cut or passed.

One gauge, nonetheless, is the consistency and longevity of a company's dividend payments. A company that has rewarded its shareholders through fair weather and foul must not only be considered strong, but reasonably proud of its performance and eager to maintain public confidence in it.

These records are easy to check. Any broker, for instance, can supply you with a list of the 50 companies with the longest records for consecutive annual dividend payments. It is an impressive group, headed by the Pennsylvania Railroad, which has managed to pay a dividend every year since 1848.

There are no dividends from investing in currencies but you can make more money from a good movement in your currency pairs.

Using Forex software will help you to predict when and which ways different currencies are likely to move.

Play more suffer less

I don't even like the word "exercise" anymore. Like the word "diet", which really just means what you eat, the meaning of the word "exercise" has changed.

It once meant you were "physically moving your body for the sake of your health". That doesn't sound bad at all. Unfortunately, it has come to represent activities that are mostly boring, repetitive, and unappealing.

Movement is supposed to be fun. It should be good for the soul as well as for the body.

Our bodies are meant to be in motion. To be active, agile, busy, and full of life. We weren't meant to sit on the couch all day any more than we were meant to spend hours locked away in smelly gyms.

Time travel back to when you were a child. If you were like most children, you were on the move all the time. It was never called exercise. Who would have thought of such a thing?

It was called PLAYING! And it was fun. Children don't count calories. They don't force themselves to play for a certain amount of time. They move around because they love it and it feels good.

No pain, no gain - blechh. If lifting weights makes you happy, more power to you. But for most people that gym membership is just a waste of money and another source of guilt. Life is just too short to spend it being miserable.

The solution? Play more. Have more fun.

Keep it simple. Make it easy. Just get up and move your body around a little each day.

*Move in ways you LOVE.

*Move to feed your soul and to feel vibrantly healthy.

*Ratchet up the richness quotient in your life.

*Treat yourself to fun and playful ways to move about each day.

*Fire the drill sergeant in your head and do what feels good.

*Look for ways to move that make your heart soar with happiness.

Think back to childhood. What is an activity you loved doing then? Try that now just for fun. Some ideas…

*Toss a Frisbee around

*Learn karate again

*Take up roller skating or inline skating

*Dig out the old croquet set and play a few rounds

*Ride your bike around the neighborhood just for fun

*Splash around in a pool or lake

*Play some softball with friends

*Chase your dog around the yard

*Play miniature golf

*Jump around on a trampoline

*Make snow angels

*Play tag with the kids

*Jump rope

*Build a sandcastle at the beach

*Spin a hula hoop

*Put on some music and go wild dancing all through your house

*Go outside and dig around in the dirt

And some play ideas for adults…

*Hiking

*Swimming

*Running

*Belly dancing

*Skiing

*Tennis

*Yoga

*Gardening

*Golf

*Ice Skating

*Ballroom dancing

*Sailing

*Water Skiing

*Tai Chi

*Volleyball

*Basketball

*Soccer

*Yoga

*Stretching in any way that feels good to YOUR body

And don’t forget the simplest choice of them all. The easiest and most natural thing we do is walk. It's what our bodies are built for. No special equipment needed other than a decent pair of shoes.

It only takes 30 minutes of activity a few times a week to make a dramatic improvement in your health. Check in with YOUR body. What kinds of movement does it want to do? Just ask it and see what response you get. Then do that thing and see how great you feel. Your body is wise. It knows exactly what it needs.

Kiwi invader new zealand mud snails endanger yellowstone national park

What, you may well ask, do 13 foot-tall New Zealand birds that have been extinct for 500 years and modern Wyoming trout species have in common? And what, you may also ask, since you’re in the asking mood, do snails have to do with any of it? Well, the answer is “quite a lot, really”. It’s a bit complicated, but bear with me.

In something like the year 1500 C. E. the Polynesian ancestors of the Maori peoples arrived in what is known today as New Zealand. They were a brand new species to the islands, with no previous place in the ecosystem. As a result the local prey species, most notably the enormous native birds called Moa, had no natural defenses against them. Moa were not only flightless, they were completely wingless. Their only natural predator on the island was a 30-pound eagle (also later hunted to extinction by the proto-Maori), so the weren’t that fast on their feet, since there’s not much point in running from an 80-MPH flying killing machine. Their only defense against ground-based predation was their great size, which humans have traditionally not given much of a damn about (island peoples can hunt whales in wooden canoes; over-grown chickens are hardly scary to them). The end result is that all of New Zealand’s giant flightless birds are currently on display at several fine natural history museums around the world.

But what’s that to do with snails?

Enter Potamopyrgus antipodarum, the New Zealand Mud Snail. These tiny, aquatic, freshwater mollusks are migrating out of New Zealand, not into it, but their impact on an ecosystem they had no previous place in could have similar repercussions for native species. Carried by us world-trotting humans, these critters made their North American debut in the 1980’s in the Snake River, and have been drifting west ever since. They are now present in Wyoming’s Yellowstone National Park.

How do these diminutive invaders hop from river to river, lake to lake, establishing an almost unshakeable presence as they go? Humans again, I’m afraid. The New Zealand Mud Snail is prone to hitchhiking on boats and fishing gear. So a careless or messy angler on an extended fishing trip can spread the little devils far and wide.

Mud Snails are quite hardy enough to make the trip as well. They’re so small ( 6mm long, maximum, and sometimes as small as a grain of rice), and they so much resemble tiny flecks of mud, that they often go undetected. They can survive out of water for several days, and can live in many kinds of freshwater environments. They’re even resilient enough to handle low temperatures (anything above freezing) and can pass unharmed through the digestive tract of most fish. Moreover, they reproduce asexually, and are “livebreeders”, meaning they produce a number of perfectly formed little clones, so even one can spawn a colony.

New Zealand Mud Snail densities of more than Ѕ million snails per square yard have been found in Yellowstone Park. With no natural predators to keep it in check there’s every possibility native snail species will be out-competed into extinction and native plant species overwhelmed. Such an unbalancing presence can decimate other species, such as trout, something that gives the Colorado Fish and Wildlife Department and dedicated Wyoming fishing enthusiasts reason for pause.

Efforts are being made to curb the New Zealand Mud Snail invasion. Let’s hope the trout have more luck than the Moa.

The cranberry bog - book review

Scott Underhill takes readers on a stimulating, emotional ride in his book The Cranberry Bog, an environmental suspense novel. Environment Engineer, Jeff Ridge works for the Environment Protection Agency. He and his co-worker, Tara Clemens, are walking on eggshells around an unusual assignment after being called into investigate tainted water at a Bed and Breakfast owned by Joshua and Debra Klickman. Jeff and Tara are quickly exposed to the ‘small town syndrome’ – everyone knows everyone else’s business.

Meanwhile, Jeff is feeling ousted by his superiors who choose to compromise the Sheziou Report. Heated tempers and flared verbal exchanges are not enough to deter Jeff from his ideals. When the criminals resort to beatings and persecution, Jeff is only fueled by the knowledge that he is on to something big. The mysterious helper who drops off notes and envelopes of evidence leads Jeff to clues that egg him on to seek the truth.

Attraction to Lydia Kittle, the heiress of Kittle Manufacturing, contradicts his nearly fanatic feelings towards big business, which has often turned its back on the environment. Jeff’s tragic tale of loss froze his heart, but the sight of Lydia gives him the strength to thaw and except love again.

I really enjoyed reading this novel, which seemingly has it all. Environmental pollution, corrupt officials, politicians and companies lead to thrilling chase scenes and to cold-blooded murder. It is a moving romance with a glorious ‘David against Goliath’ theme that will have you cheering for the underdog. Of course, the focus on the environment is very appealing to me as I deeply cherish, and work towards, the health of the planet.

I highly recommend Scott Underhill’s novel, The Cranberry Bog – and I look forward to reading his other novel, Give a Little!

Lyme disease it bites

People often ignore insect bites thinking that the itching and the swelling will just go away on its own. But who would have through that something as little as a tick can bring so much trouble aside from the usual insect bite marks.

Lyme disease

Lyme disease, also called borreliosis, is a bacterial infection acquired from tick bites. This are not regular ticks. These are wood ticks found in deers. Ticks may settle itself anywhere on a human body, preferably on warm, moist, and dark places like armpits and groins. Lyme disease is caused by bacteria from ticks of the genus Borrelia. However, in rare cases, it is also carried by ticks of the genus Ixodes. It has been reported that Borrelia burgdorferi caused Lyme disease in the United States and Borrelia afzelli and garinii in Europe.

Symptoms

Infection may manifest differently. In its initial stage, patients see the presence of a reddish “bulls-eye,” often accompanied by fever, malaise, and fatigue. About eighty percent of patients in the early stage of Lyme disease experienced this symptom. This appears anywhere from a day to a month upon being bitten by an infected tick. This red bulls-eye rash does not signal an allergic reaction, but rather a skin infection to the Lyme bacteria. Muscular-skeletal pain may also be present during the early onset of this condition.

There have been rare cases where the infection appears asymptomatic. And some less common reported cases of having cardiac and neurologic symptoms. Cardiac symptoms include heart block and palpitations, neurologic symptoms include affectation of the central nervous system wherein the senses are impaired.

Medical complications

Untreated or persistent cases of Lyme disease may lead to a number of chronic disease with medical complications such as meningo-encephalitis, cardiac inflammation (myocarditis), and frank arthritis.

Meningo-encephalitis has symptoms that resemble meningitis and encephalitis. It manifests inflammation of the brain and its meninges. Myocarditis is the inflammation of the muscular part of the heart. With Lyme arthitis, often only one joint is affected at a time. The most commonly affected joints are those of the knees, followed by the shoulder, elbow, foot, and hip. This symptoms may die down after being treated for one to four weeks and may return in later months or even years.

Treatment

Antibiotics are the primary treatment administered for Lyme disease. Dosage depends on the amount of time the tick has stayed in the person's body. People who immediately removed the tick from their body are advised to be placed on close monitoring for any tick-borne diseases. For people who have been bitten by ticks that have been in their person for at least twelve hours are advised to take a three-day dose of antibiotics. The duration of dosing will depend on the doctors instructions and should always be followed religiously.

Prevention

The best way to avoid getting Lyme disease is to avoid tick-infested areas, or anywhere there are lots of animals where ticks may breed on. If it is unavoidable to go to tick-filled places, wear protective clothing that covers the entire body. Also, using insect repellents when going into wooden areas may help.

Knowing what to avoid will help prevent you from getting infected by Lyme disease, or any other diseases for that matter. Ensuring personal hygiene protects you from breeding ticks or body lice that may infect you. Being sensitive to your body and keeping track of even the slightest changes in your body will help you become more aware of any form of infection of insect infestation on your body.

Just because something is small and barely visible, doesn't mean it can't harm you. These tiny wood ticks may be little, but they can kill you. Just like how the little boy David was able to bring down the giant Goliath.

Essential points you need to know about migraine

Migraine is one of the most common excuse people use when they can’t attend a meeting or miss a class for students. In fact, it is an overused excuse next to insomniac. But this kind of headache is not a joke. It is necessary to find out the essential information about migraine so that when the time comes that the excuse becomes true you will not freak out of what you are feeling.

What it is and what it has…

Migraine is the kind of headache that occurs repeatedly. There is an estimated 11 individuals who get migraines in 100 people. A person with migraine experiences excruciating pain on one portion or side of the person’s head.

Migraine is classified according to the occurrence of aura and otherwise. Aura is a range of neurological disturbances such as visual irregularity. This serves as a sign that migraine is yet to occur. A person may experience vertigo, numbness which last approximately 20 minutes or less. This type is also called classic migraine that includes symptoms such as weakness of leg or arm, itching hands or face, confusion,

A common type of migraine does not occur with an aura. Some individuals only experience preceding symptoms such as mental confusion, mood swings, fatigue, and others. This type lasts to a maximum of 4 days.

Speaking of visual irregularity, one type of migraine is the ocular migraine which may result to vision loss or difficulty. But do not worry because its symptoms only lasts a while and doesn’t pose harm to the eye only that it affects your daily lifestyle.

Migraine signs include the following: severe headache, one-sided and frontal headache, nausea, vomiting, weakness, light and sound sensitivity, throbbing headache, eye pain, etc.

Triggering factors

Migraine can be triggered by many factors but all of these do not yet have scientific explanations. It includes allergic reactions, perfume odors, stress, irregular sleep patterns, meal skipping, alcohol, caffeine, pills intake, headaches due to tension, foods with tyramine, chocolate, peanut butter, banana, dairy products, and many more.

There are also drugs that can trigger migraine. These include nitrates, theophylline, reserpine, nifedipine, indomethicin, and cimetidine. So watch out for these if you know that you have the tendency to have migraine.

Why take vitamin and mineral supplements

Why take vitamin and mineral supplements?

Vitamin and mineral supplements may help healthy people for a number of reasons. They can help prevent vitamin and mineral deficiencies when the diet is not adequate to provide all necessary nutrients. They can also provide amounts of nutrients larger than the diet can provide. Larger amounts of some nutrients may help to protect against future disease.

Everybody critically needs vitamins to work, grow, and develop properly, which makes them extremely important on a daily basis. But it doesn't stop there. The human body also requires vitamins to do many things, such as ward off disease, boost immune system response, and even improve overall moods! When the skin gets a cut, the human body needs a good number of vitamins to clot. When one gets sick, the body requires a more than average amount of vitamins to help fight the virus. Some vitamins even help produce energy throughout the body. People still feeling tired regardless of making good efforts to eat all the right things may very well be not consuming the appropriate amount vitamins. When this happens, there is a very high chance the body isn't getting the vitamins needed to convert what is being eaten into energy.

Benefits

• helps prevent disease

• boosts immune system response

• assists with fatigue

Arizona

The Grand Canyon State, is a unique place to raise a family. The weather in AZ is nice that one could wear shorts all year around. In fact, I do.

This is because I live in the AZ warm weather area. Arizona has many, many diverse areas that has different environmental properties. The northern part of Arizona, right around the Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon, gets rain and is considerably more cooler than the southern region of the state. On the west side of the state is the lower deserts and on the river, it's warm. Yuma, Lake Havasu City, and Parker all are hotter than Phoenix and Tucson (found in the upper desert).

This diverse climate landscape also brings with it diversity of activities. There are several ski resorts in Northern Arizona, while there are superb desert canyons in )lower area of Arizona. The west part of Arizona is complimented by the Colorado River while the east part has diverse climates and landscapes.

Because of the diversity of Arizona, there brings many different people. This is great for Arizona because, well, one type of anything can make anything bland. Talking to people you will find that most are from either California or the midwest. There is a small black population with an increasing Mexican population.

With all the diverse people from a lot of different places also brings many different values. Arizona news and talk stations on the radio exhibits this. Political views tend to swerve to the conservative side, but there is a liberal governor. We also are home to the Air America radio network, a heavily liberal based talk radio network that is sindicated throughout the country. The leading talk radio station (according to records and radio dot com) is usually 550 AM KFYI, a heavily conservative station featuring hosts such as Hannity and Limbaugh. KTAR, a FM news talk atation at 92.3, claims to be in the independent, but leans a little conservative.

Internet opinion and news forums, like ArizonaNewsTalk. com, become popuar forums for those to have discussion about current news and events in the Grand Canyon State a lot going on in Arizona, you should take a road trip and see the state.

Many pro gold courses compliment the state, it's a great place for your short-haired pets, and the crime in the rural areas is relatively low.

Arizona is a perfect place to be!

Little known weapons of mass destruction threat during lebanon war

A well informed source in the Israeli intelligence community, who cannot be identified, says the Israeli air force raids, following the July 12 Hezbollah attack on an IDF border patrol, were aimed first of all at "Hezbollah's strategic weapons' secret locations." The source added that this initial goal did not include "ordinary" short and medium range rockets but was specifically aimed against the heavier weapon systems supplied by Iran with the Zalzal rockets topping the list. "Our first aim was to neutralize the heavy ones and their launching systems since we had solid information the Hezbollah had a plan to use chemical war heads.

Information the Israeli intelligence had regarding chemical weapons in Hezbollah hands was validated by friendly intelligence organizations, including a recent DIA memo. The source also said the Iranian manufacturers together with their Syrian allies toyed with the idea of "testing" their CW by letting the Hezbollah launch them on a limited scale while they would remain in the shadows in an attempt to wash their hands of such an attack when, as could be expected, the world community would react with an outcry of fierce criticism. The Iranian CW program centered at Damgahn, some 300 kilometers east of Tehran, manufactures an estimated 1,000 tons a year of various chemical nerve agents.

The Syrians pushed for at least preparing a strategic arsenal to be used if Israel would move on to destroy Hezbollah strongholds, assessing that this time, due to the suddenness of events, the Israeli population would not be properly prepared for that kind of attack. As events unfolded, the Israeli intelligence learned that Sheikh Hassan Nasarallah, who was in Damascus just a few days prior to the July 12 attack, had raised some concerns over the possibility of a massive Israeli reaction if he gave the order to go ahead with the abduction plan.

His Syrian liaison officers and representatives of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards' al-Quds Force told him he could then retaliate by launching a chemical war head. They assessed it would be highly effective because the Israeli population would not have been put on high alert as was done during the two Iraq wars when anti-gas attack kits were distributed across the country, and homes, offices and air raid shelters, were sealed with special nylon sheets.

However, when the hostilities erupted the first move Israel undertook was a massive air raid to first and foremost destroy every target which was part of the Zalzal Project. Thus Nasarallah's gamble he could wreak a catastrophic CW blow on Israel was shattered before he had a chance to carry it out.

The air raids were planned in several stages. The first and most vital incursion was to destroy all Zalzal depots, which soon enough were proven highly successful. The second crucial stage came with the total destruction of what became known as the Hezbollah high rise enclave in south Beirut and where their offices and communication centers were situated.

The prime purpose in this instance was to destroy Hezbollah's so-called scientific wing facilities and not, as was widely believed, to catch Sheikh Nasarallah or even anyone of his skilled scientific workforce who have widespread links to Shiite students and teachers in colleges throughout Europe and the U. S., but first and foremost to Iranian WMD experts often housed in these buildings where they had special guest apartments for visiting experts.

Equipment seized by IDF ground forces in small Lebanese towns such as Maise-e-Jabel, where sophisticated listening and monitoring devices were captured, as well as documents revealing that some monitoring devices were programmed to shadow Israeli hospitals and the army's medical corps evacuation network, could have enabled Hezbollah to follow-up on the nature of damages caused. Obviously they were hoping to learn about the overall affect of the chemical warheads as well had they been launched. The discoveries in Maise-e-Jabel left no doubt that the air force had to go on several more rounds to utterly destroy Hezbollah's enclave in Beirut.

The use of Chinese made radar guided C-802 cruise missiles became possible on the fourth day of the fighting when both Iran and Syria agreed the flare-up was a good opportunity to test them. A convoy of Syrian military trucks carrying the system entered Lebanon through Tellkalakh and the Tripoli highway in the north, and Iranian operators arrived directly from Tehran with their Hezbollah trainees to carry out the launch of three such missiles. One of them hit an Israeli missile boat; the others sank two freighters, an Egyptian one and a Cambodian one.

This system is too massive to be smuggled through mountain passages and therefore every bridge, every road and every road junction going from Syria into Lebanon had to be immediately destroyed following the first unanticipated cruise missile attack.

A number of commando raids into the Beqaa Valley were designed to detect and destroy chemical warhead storages. Unsurprisingly such finds, whether verified or not, were not made public. However, Hezbollah militiamen sealed off the entire vicinity after the last raid on Boudai, clearly indicating they were worried over some sort of possible leakages. The same precautions were undertaken in south Beirut where Hezbollah fighters prevented free access to their destroyed enclave.

``

According to the intelligence source it is assumed Hezbollah will attempt in the future to proceed with two basic options as envisioned by the Revolutionary Guards and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Tehran. The first would be to launch various types of rockets, including modified Zalzals from aboard medium sized boats or freighters in the Mediterranean. Their success in hitting targets some 75 to 85 kilometers from their launch sites into northern Israel suggests they could, in theory, also launch a rocket from the sea to hit the heavily populated urban area around Tel Aviv. This type of a naval terror attack is an idea al-Qaeda too is known to have been toying with and is a significant threat to Europe and North America as well.

Another preference was to improve the scheme of aerial suicide bombers, al-Qaeda style, by establishing an "air wing" which could "sneak in without the warning sign emitted by a hijacked plane." Already in 2004 Iran equipped the Hezbollah with UAVs of the type Mirsad-1 and the Ababil outfitted with cameras and GPS systems as part of an overall guidance structure monitored by wireless radio and telephone systems all the way from Tehran, just like the U. S. Air Force and the CIA handle UAVs armed with Hellfire missiles from a base in Colorado.

The IDF shared its findings with the U. S. which regards this information as vital for U. S. national security, and because of the importance to show jihadists that their systems, even when highly sophisticated, can and will be destroyed with or without heavy collateral damage. When Sheikh Nasarallah boasted towards the end of the campaign that within hours he would destroy Haifa, and when realizing the Hezbollah and their handlers were ready to take their campaign all the way, Israel had no choice but to react aggressively with an all out assault up and down and across the width of Lebanon to safeguard the lives of hundreds of thousands. Thus Nasarallah's Zalzal depots, his planning offices, communication systems and even vital land routes, had to be totally destroyed by the Israeli air force, navy and commandos.

Be smart with a credit card and use it wisely

Owning a credit card is something that can be a very positive thing… as long as it is used responsibly. There are many ways for people to use credit cards to their advantage, but there are also ways for credit cards to get people into financial trouble. By following a few simple tips related to managing credit card usage, a credit card can be a very beneficial piece of plastic to own.

Establishing Credit

For anyone who has never before owned any sort of credit card and has never been loaned money, there will probably be very little information (neither good nor bad) on their credit report. Without a credit history, it's difficult for credit card companies to determine whether or not to offer a line of credit to a person. In this situation, the credit card companies tend to err on the side of caution and not offer a card.

However, if there is one credit card company out there willing to offer a credit card with a very small line of credit to someone with no credit history, that card should be immediately obtained. It should be used very wisely to purchase a few low-priced items, and the monthly payments for that credit card should be made on time every month.

As time goes on, this sort of spending and monthly payment behavior will allow a credit report to grow with nothing but good marks. A person's credit score can continue to grow higher and higher when they can show the ability to handle and pay for their credit card purchases.

Over time, a person's positive credit report will allow him or her to obtain either additional credit cards or credit cards which offer great interest rates and other types of benefits.

Don't Charge Too Much

Just because a credit card has been obtained does not mean it should be over used or abused. If a new credit card has a credit limit of about $1,500, it's smart to keep the balance on that card significantly lower than the maximum allowed to be charged. So, charging no more than $1,000 - at the most - is reasonable.

A credit card company issues a credit limit based on how much they believe a person can afford. And, higher balances means a significant amount of interest must be paid on the balance, which can create an amount due that is unaffordable.

If the credit card is used to charge more than the available credit limit, the credit card company will issue an over-charge fee and the user will not be able to use the card again until some of the balance has been paid.

Don’t Pay Payments Late

When it's time to make a minimum payment on a credit card balance, PAY IT! Payments should NEVER be late. Late payments can negatively affect a person's credit report, and in turn, lower a person's credit score. Making payments on time, conversely, can help a person build a good credit history and earn a better credit score.

Knowing that a credit card bill will be received in the mail on approximately the same date each month, prepare ahead of time and make sure there is enough money in the bank to send AT LEAST the minimum amount due.

Keep Credit Cards Safe

In today's world of being able to easily purchase items via telephone or the internet, it's important to keep credit cards and credit card numbers in a safe spot. If anyone non-trustworthy person were to get their hands on another person's credit card, charges could be made to that card which were not authorized by the card owner. While most credit card companies do not hold card holders responsible for unauthorized charges, it does not look good if this sort of situation happens more than once (at the most!) during a person's lifetime.

Visitors guide to phoenix arizona usa

Standing on the northern side of the Sonoran Desert, in the aptly named 'Valley of the Sun' Phoenix is one of the most popular cities in Arizona. Known for its extremely sunny weather and related winter tourist trade, Phoenix has much to offer visitors, with strip malls surrounding the downtown district. Now amongst America's largest cities, Phoenix is a true metropolis, with many striking high-rise buildings in the city center, together with exceptional golf courses and impressive resort areas nearby.

Many of the attractions in Phoenix are situated in the downtown district, the heart of the city, where you will find notable restaurants, sporting venues and shops. Other popular areas of the city include the business district, Old Phoenix, particularly around Heritage Square, and the Glendale area, which is home to many of the city's main museums and numerous well-preserved, historical structures. The Mesa area of Phoenix contains a number of shopping malls, whereas Scottsdale boasts resorts and specialty shops. For entertainment venues and a vibrant nightlife, be sure to head to Tempe, where you will not be disappointed.

Phoenix Tourism:

Tourism in the Phoenix area is well catered for, with many top attractions, a number of which are particularly appealing to families. Ranging from historical ruins and sights, to amusement parks and major shopping centers, Phoenix offers plenty of things to see and places to go. The summer months of July through September are the warmest, when temperature peak at 42°C / 108°F, although evening are much cooler.

Five strategic steps to catch a shark from the beach

Fishing is something that many people consider a process of luck and chance. For example, the average gentleman who approaches the local waterway on a Sunday afternoon has a chance of catching a specimen. But does his lonely prawn – sitting in front of an oversized sinker, slowly drifting downstream – set a scene for a positive or negative chance of a capture?

I firmly believe that fishing should be approached with a goal and the necessary knowledge and skills in order to maximise success. The fisherman who envisions an eighty-two centimetre flathead (goal) and visits a sandy bank on sunset accompanied by a run-out tide and the correct outfit, is significantly increasing the chances of achieving his goal.

Land Based Shark Fishing (LBSF) can only be successful when skill is relied on, much like the gentleman targeting an oversized flathead. Certainly, someone who views capturing a big shark as chance or luck will never be successful. Catching a large specimen from the beach requires consideration of the strategic key points that follow.

1. Choosing the right bait is a large part of this operation and after many years of testing different specimens the local eel and ray populations have produced outstanding results. These baits last in the water for over twenty-four hours and are gorged on by big hungry sharks.

2. Tide times and moon phases are a primary consideration for LBSF and fishing time must be optimised around certain strategic points. For most sharks, fishing a run-out tide on a new moon will almost guarantee results. Some of our local crew have predicted strikes within thirty seconds of a low tide change.

3. Rigs must be made with large ‘J’-style hooks (14O – 16O) and crimped onto insulated wire, as micro voltages generated from bare cable and salt water consistently deter potential customers. Taped coat hanger wire can quickly be converted to a three-prong anchor that should be bound to the cable to secure the bait to the seabed, minimising drift. Furthermore, cable or electrical ties are the ultimate devices for securing a large eel or ray to a rig for optimal bait presentation.

4. The right equipment is essential even though it may be a large investment. Penn international 50 or 80 size reels or similar Shimano Tiagra set-ups work brilliantly. Spooling these units with 80 to 100 pound lines and mounting them on 24 or 37kg rods will usually convince most large sharks to turn their head toward the beach. Black Magic belts and Braid harness set-ups are also critical when a strike is converted to a battle.

5. Using an inflatable craft powered by a small outboard should be enough for bait deployment. Environments such as Moreton Island in Queensland, Australia offer a sharp drop off which means bait can be confidentially dispatched into deep water. Deploying baits just over drop-offs or in three to ten metres of water often produce good results. Remember that deploying baits near the horizon only reduces the amount of line you have to control a specimen.

So are you still pondering whether catching a specimen is simply chance? Well, once you consider the intimacy of this procedure, and understand that serious knowledge and skill is involved, you’re ready to start. Don’t be discouraged if your initial attempts are not successful – simply try different locations until you get a strike. Following the above recipe will improve your strike rate incredibly and in a short time you will be predicting your next encounters.

May the hub of your reel be seen regularly!

The cdw collision damage waiver

There are some major disagreements on what the place of a Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is among renters. Some claim a CDW is just another way of ripping of the renter, while some business men suggest it is necessary. Some traveling business men suggest that a good way to save money is by declining the CDW, but you need to be careful of how to proceed. If you decline the CDW when renting a car, you are basically bound by a promise to bring back the car in the same exact condition as when you first rented it. If it is damaged from any cause, whether it is your fault or not, you will have to pay to fix the damage.

An additional fee that some companies add is the “loss of use” charge. A “loss of use" charge charges you to reimburse them for the rental income they could have made if the car had not been in the shop. Loss of use charges are not allowed in all jurisdictions, but it is a major enough fee that you need to know ahead of time. Because of the CDW requirement, it is always a good idea when picking up the car to walk around and make sure it does not have any dings or visible damage that you might be charged for. If you find any, call them to the attention of the rental agent and have them noted on your contract to avoid paying for something you shouldn’t.

If you go without a CDW and the worst should happen and the car is damaged, you might be tempted to return it and walk away, hoping no one will notice. DON’T! Someone will notice. This is a clear change for a rental company to jack up the charges, they won’t pass on it. Someone will notice. It is much better to admit the damage up front and inspect the car with the rental agent, to see if you can agree on the extent of the damage.

Some credit card companies cover rental insucrance, as long as you rent the car on the card. They may cover collision damage, too, but only if you report it within 30 days. If they do, give the credit card company complete information, so this doesn’t somehow disappear and become your responsibility. Include a photocopy of your rental contract and credit card charge slip.

A CDW may cover damage, but it also tends to be very expensive. If your normal car insurance or credit card company covers these expenses, dodging the CDW might be the best fiscally responsible decision you can make in renting a car.

American wedding practices

Living in the US makes one feel free - free to do anything, free to live, free to love, free from traditions. While this is true, there are still many practices done during wedding that renders this memorable event with a distinct American touch. Here are some:

Starting from the engagement, Americans can think of unique ways to personalize their wedding. As there really isn't any engagement tradition, the more unique the marriage proposal is done, the better.

For most wedding preparations, the engaged couple visits their parents to inform them of their recent engagement.

At times, the engaged couple hosts an engagement party. The engagement party costs less than a wedding reception since most of the time, the menu will only include cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Therefore, if the couple is on a tight budget, they can just invite more guests to the engagement party if they plan to limit the number of guests during the wedding.

Most wedding preparations have a bridal shower given by the maid of honor and the bridesmaids. The groom may also have a bachelor party the night before the wedding but he has to be careful not to drink too much.

Wedding invitations should include response cards to quickly inform the couple whether the person has accepted or declined the invitation. The wedding invitations should also be sent within four to six weeks before the event.

Usually, there is a rehearsal dinner in which the wedding party and guests came from far places to be present at the wedding attend. It was practiced that the groom's parents pay for this dinner.

A bridal luncheon may be hosted for the bride's attendants during the wedding day. However, time constraints may not permit this to be part of the schedule for the wedding day. Likewise, the groom may also host a groom's dinner for his groomsmen.

Interestingly, even if the couple is not very religious, they still prefer a religious ceremony. However, this may pose a problem since in America people of different faiths and religious backgrounds get married.

Even if there are few people who believe in bad luck, some couples still make sure that the groom does not see his bride until she starts waking on the aisle.

It is still practiced that the groom and his groomsmen enter the church through a side door. The bride will then walk down the aisle with her father. In some cases when both her father and stepfather brought up the bride, she may ask them both to escort her.

During a formal reception, there is usually a bridal table where the couple and the attendants sit. Also, food and drinks should be served as the guests appear at the reception.

Before, gift giving used to depend on what the guest will feel useful for the couple. Now, it is better to register for gifts so the guests will know what to bring that the couple will need.

Upon receiving an engagement or wedding gift, it is better to send a thank you note apart from saying "thank you" to the giver. This should be sent within two weeks upon receipt of the gift. Make a personalized thank you note, instead of using an impersonal generic thank you note.

These are just some American practices during weddings. Whether one chooses to this or prefers to have a very different wedding, what's more important is that American's still believe in the wedding vow, "For better or worse, 'til death do us part."

Hobbies that pay

Many people have hobbies. Retirees and housewives often have hobbies to help keep them occupied during moments of relaxation or boredom. But not many people realize that you can make money from most hobbies. By taking your hobbies and turning them into cash at flea markets and swap meets, you can easily earn a modest income while having fun.

Crocheting is one of the highest paying hobbies. Crochet thread is often inexpensive while still being durable, washable, and delicate in appearance. Crocheted table cloths, curtains, and bedspreads can be completed within a month by most experts in the craft, and can be sold for hundreds of dollars depending on size and pattern.

Other home decoration hobbies like wreath making, basket weaving, or wood working can also be turned into easy income. Quilting is also a great hobby to make money from. Since fewer and fewer people know how to quilt, a hand made quilt is hard to come by, and therefore valuable. You can often make at least a fifty percent profit on your completed quilts. Baby quilts are also very popular.

Sewing and knitting of any kind can be very profitable hobbies. Knit sweaters, baby hats, booties, mittens, and other items can be big sellers at flea markets and swap meets. Clothing items can also be sold at these locations very easily. Well made home sewn clothing is often stronger than the cheap clothes that you can get at the local department store, but can be sold for the same price or less while still earning the seamstress quite a bit of money. Wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, and prom dresses can be huge income earners for the expert seamstress.

One of the best hobbies to make money from is gift baskets. Decorating jars and other containers using appliquй, ribbons, and paint can be combined with the creative mixture of perfumes, bath oils, and bubble baths to make very pretty, country style gift baskets. These bath baskets are great for gifts all season round, including mother’s day, birthdays, and Christmas, making them a very profitable hobby.

Gardening is also one of the more profitable hobbies. If you like to garden but don’t really need everything you plant, you can take the left over to a farmer’s market. You can also simply set up a stand on the side of the road in some communities. Fresh produce is a great commodity, and can earn you a hefty income in the spring.

The journey from usb 1.1 to usb 2.0

The Universal Serial Bus (USB) was first launched in 1996 by a group of IT Companies known as the USB Promoter Group.

This first version was known as USB 1.1 and was a standardized serial connection that aimed to provide a replacement for parallel and serial ports. Intended for mid-speed and slow computer peripherals, it created an intelligent serial bus.

In the early years, many people utilized USB on their own computers and it proved to work well for most applications. In recent years, however, USB 1.1 has proved to be too limited. While USB 1.1 managed to remain useful to more modern technologies, some loopholes in the initial version were pointed as the source of major problems.

USB 1.1 was limited with a slower transference rate of only 12-megabits/ sec. During the rise of the USB 1.1 in the market, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineer (IEEE) unveiled the FireWire, also called i. LINK(tm), which had a transfer speed of 400 blazing megabytes per second, then considered a fantastic rate of transfer. This transfer speed made the uploading of a full motion video from a camcorder convenient. It threatened to push USB 1.1 out of the market, as it was not able to compete with this newcomer.

The creation of increasingly sophisticated gadgets and peripherals spotlighted the limitations of the original version of USB. USB 1.1 was not able to fully support the speeds needed to run gadgets like digital movie or video players, mobile phones, video phones, Web cameras, digital cameras, MP3s or digital music players, PDAs and Palmtops.

When USB 2.0 version debuted, with 40 times the speed of the previous version, it offered the capacity to operate most of the newly released technologies.

One of the most important features of USB 2.0 is that it is backward compatible. In other words, USB 2.0 hardware can be plugged to computer's old USB 1.1 port and will function properly because both versions use same plug. USB 2.0 can transmit data at speeds between 1.5 megabits to 480 megabits per second, but if USB 2.0 hardware is connected to a USB 1.1 port it will not attempt to transmit data at its maximum speed of 480 megabits per second. Rather, it will slow it's rate of transmission in order to operate properly and compatibly with the older hardware.

Upgrading a computer to include USB 2.0 ports into a computer is a simple procedure. When USB 2.0 ports are added with a PCI port card, the original USB 1.1 ports are retained and will continue to function normally.

Both USB 2.0 and 1.1 are plug and play. Once a USB device is connected to the host computer, the system will automatically recognizes it. The drivers will then be installed and the system can begin operating the new hardware without the necessity of a reboot. The upgraded technology of USB 2.0 also allows the connection capacity of a single computer to a very large number of devices at once: 127 to be exact.

Both USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 have become vital instruments in connecting devices and computers together. If things continue as they have begun, USB will become even faster and more efficient in years to come.

Forex traders are you looking into automated systems

Being in the forex game, I wanted to get an edge and masterfully own every single pip I could possibly get my hand on. Being also that the learning curve was quite opulent and sometimes wasn't really in my favor, I needed an alternative to the hours of technical analysis and research on news and historical data.

I was pressed to find a solution that would let me be able to make trades without the aggravation of the fore mentioned. I looked into using EMA crosses, and news trading, and a couple of other crazy things, only to lose more money and turn more hairs to grey over it.

One day I found the Expert Advisor. What an Expert Advisor is, is an automated trading system, ported to Metatrader 4's Trading Platform. The dealbreaker here, is that you need an account with a forex broker, which supports Metatrader 4. There are at least a few dozen forex brokers who use Metatrader, and a couple of them should fit your trading requirements like a glove.

Why should you consider looking into an expert advisor? Easy!

1. They trade while you sleep, and never need rest at all. It is a software module that works with Metatrader 4, and never crashes!

2. They never need a salary, bathroom breaks, sleep, food, benefits, or anything else that a human trader would need.

3. They are very easy to download, install into Metatrader 4, turn on, and throw them to the wolves to start making money! This process from purchase to operation takes not even 10 minutes.

4. 60 Day Money Back Guarantee. Most Expert Advisors have satisfaction guarantees, just in case you are not satisfied with the results that the Expert Advisor provides, or just have a problem with the system.

5. Have a life, be with family or friends. Make the real money and not work a 9-5! You think it is easier said than done, but seriously, the reality is, when you can make a sustainable, survivable income from Forex, you would fire your boss!

6. One I could recommend off of the bat, is Forex Funnel. This Forex Automated Trading System has generated a great work at home income, and has documented proof as well! A system that has made $600,000 in four years time, and $150,000 in one years time.

You owe it to yourself! Try the Forex Funnel Today!!!

The games memories play

People have been making stuff up for as long as anyone can imagine, perhaps even longer. The human mind is capable of incredible feats of creativity and artistic talent, though this is not usually applied to something as critical as a person's memories. Yet, if you examine the witnesses, you'll notice a few things that are amiss. Their sworn statements, their testimony while under cross-examination, and what they said years after the fact can all differ drastically, with details being altered, deleted, or added seemingly at random. Things can get even more confusing for people who have undergone counseling or treatment due to some form of psychological trauma, because there are usually even more alterations.

This is not because they're making this up as they go, of course. At least, they may not be doing it consciously. The state of their mental health is not entirely fractured either, as even the sanest and most “normal” people can have memories that are altered drastically with each retelling of it. Certainly, people with certain mental health issues might have more “false” memories than others, but that doesn't mean that their minds are the only ones capable of such things. The fact is, the human mind has a propensity to create false memories. That much has been known to medical science for decades now, though the reasons for this unusual trait have yet to be fully explored and, if possible, understood.

Human beings tend to have a lot of faith in memories that they can recall in detail, whether the one doing the recollecting is the type to note detail or not. This is a logical mechanism, after all. The more you remember about a certain event, the more likely it is that you were actually there and you didn't dream the whole thing up. However, if fiction writers are any indication, the mind is capable of creating things with as much vivid detail as anything that can be conjured up from memory. There are also times when the foggiest, least detailed memories are the ones that actually occurred, despite the lack of details that a person can draw on as support. The mechanics of this unusual aspect of memory and the mind have recently been put under intensive study by South Korean researchers, under the leadership of Hongkeun Kim of Daegu University.

The study discovered that there were two sections of the brain devoted to memory, with one storing the specific details while another stored the basic gist. Using common memory tricks, the team managed to discover that most people called on the area that stored the gist more often than the area that stored the specifics. Additionally, the more confident the person was in his memories, the more likely that the “detail” area would light up on a scan of the brain while the memory was being recalled.

While this does explain how the brain works with regards to memory, it does not explain the phenomenon of false memories. The researchers assume that it somehow relates to the interaction between the two, along with areas that are more closely linked to the subconscious than memory. At the moment, though, this is still conjecture and further study is needed. The researchers believe that, once understood, the knowledge can help people with memory-impairing problems, such as Alzheimer's. It may also improve our understanding of how certain disorders cause someone to lose recollection, but retain familiarity.

The power of web forms

Web forms allow site owners to gather information about their site visitors. Web forms can be as simple as an email newsletter subscription box, or as complex as an advanced ecommerce checkout page. Here are some tips on making the most of your web forms.

Not All Web Forms Are Created Equal

Some web forms are extremely basic and only email forms to administrators. Others are integrated into databases and lead management software. Here is some thing to look for when choosing web form software.

Targeted Lead Generation

Web forms allow site owners to gather valuable information, including contact information, referral web site URLs, search engine keywords and visitor comments, and more. The results of these web forms can be posted to a database and emailed to administrators. Respondents to web forms could be buying a product or interested in receiving more information. The leads generated in this manner are highly targeted since the people filling out the request form will have seen your site and know the purpose of your company.

Keyword and Referral Tracking

If you use search engine marketing to promote your web site, tracking keywords from search to sale can greatly increase your ability to focus on the keywords that work. When a person navigates from one page to another, tracking software can carry certain data along. The carried data can include keywords and the referral web site URL. This data is then recorded on the order form or an information request form so that web site managers can determine which keywords and site are sending the most conversions. This allows marketing efforts to be directed to what's working.

Self-Populating Database

Instead of buying a database of leads, or having telemarketers working to create lead databases, web forms allow site owners to have the prospects themselves populate a business database. In this manner, an entire database can be filled with people specifically interested in the company hosting the web form.

Email Marketing

Email marketing allows site owners to keep their companies in front of targeted audiences. Email newsletters can add value to web sites, providing a precious resource to site visitors. Informative newsletters allow site owners to send advertisements to highly targeted recipients that have opted-into the list. Newsletters can be sent at any interval, including daily, weekly monthly or yearly. By providing informative articles and/or discounts and special offers, many visitors to your site will be happy to opt-in to your mailing list. Sending email to mass amounts of people that have not requested information from you is generally regarded as spam and should be avoided.

Auto Responders

Web forms can allow automated responses to be sent, taking some work out of lead follow up. For example, if a product is likely to be used in 30 days, an auto responder can be sent to send a discount or reminder to the purchaser of the product 25 days from initial delivery.

Conclusion

Web forms are powerful tools for almost any business web site. Before investing in a web form solution, check your options and find a solution with all the features you want. Using advanced web forms can dramatically increase your marketing feedback and sales.

Cheap secured loan paves way for a low budget loan

One of the most overwhelming features of any cheap secured loan is the lower rate of interest and the longer repayment period that it offers.

When a person goes to the lender for the loan, he has to fill an application. These applications generally ask for certain details regarding his loan requirements and a brief about his property. The questions can be:

• How much would you like borrow?

• Your repayment period?

• Would you like to include payment protection insurance?

• What is the current value of your collateral?

• What is the equity left on your house?

• Your monthly mortgage payment, if any?

• Your annual income?

The answer to these questions will make the lender to analyze your credit status and will also help in deciding the annual percentage rate (APR).

Once you have filled the application form and you satisfy all the conditions of the cheap secured loan, your application will get approved for loan.

Generally seen people are rejected for loan just because of their poor credit rating. Credit score has a great impact, not only on the decision of loan but in any other financial service. The lending companies keep their eye on the credit score of a person because they consider the person with bad credit history of high risk. The risk here is associated with the risk of making repayments.

The credit score of a person is determined by the following points:

• Whether you have made any late payments in regards to any debts or pending bills.

• How many loans have you taken and turned down.

• Is the person is tagged with any country court judgment.

Sometimes the lending companies do not lend money to the less perfect credit scorers. But the cheap secured loans have opened its gate for the people with poor score. This implies that poor credit scorers can also apply for the cheap secured loan. But it may be possible that they may be charged with little higher rate of interest as compared to the rate of interest to the good credit scorers.

If we make a comparison between secured loan and unsecured loan, then the secured loan may be bit risky. Here risky is in the sense, only when the person’s intention is to miss any payment or installment of loan; because any delay or missing any payment can lead to the risk to the collateral. In other words, the lender can seize the asset. Thus the person should also consider this point before going for cheap secured loan.

Strategies for accumulating email addresses

The most successful online product launches all have one thing in common. They all involve a joint venture of some kind. In other words, the person developing the product joins up with someone who has a massive email list and they share the revenue. Over time, the person developing the product can accumulate email addresses of their own and eventually, he or she can be the list owner for other people’s products.

The point is; a successful online product launch would never take place if it wasn’t for a list owner helping to promote the product. As it turns out, the list is actually far more important than the product. And the people who have such lists are well aware of their importance. Generally speaking, they’ll get between 50% and 75% of the revenue generated from new online product launches.

That brings me to the underlying message behind this article. If you have an interest in making money online, your well advised to start accumulating email addresses and developing a list. He who brings the buyers owns the revenue. And if you have a list, you can provide the buyers for other people’s products.

The process of accumulating email address requires a bit of strategy. You can’t just ask for them. You have to offer something in exchange. And if your audience is to relinquish their email address, your offer better be worth it. So, before you do anything else, you need to properly identify your target market. Exactly who are you trying to attract? What are their characteristics and what do they have in common? Where do they hang out? What do they do for fun?

A poorly targeted list is worth nothing. In fact, any business that is poorly targeted will struggle. The strength in any offering is the targeting. Every part of the process works better when a perfect stranger can look at a business and understand immediately what it’s all about. And that happens when the business is properly targeted. So start your list accumulation strategy with a clear idea who you’re trying to find.

Next up, think about what would benefit them. Think about what their lives are like and where their challenges lie. Again, the idea is to offer a resource of some kind – something that will benefit your target market – and then request their email address in exchange for it. You can do that with an autoresponder or a squeeze page but neither will work unless your offering provides real benefits to your target market.

Once you know who you’re targeting and what you’re going to offer them, you have to decide on a price tag. Are you going to offer this for free? Are you going to assign a price, but one that is indisputably low? Either way is fine but the important thing is that the offer appears too good to be true to your target market. From their perspective, they have to feel like they absolutely cannot pass the offer up. If you achieve that, you’ll get a much higher response rate, accelerating the process of accumulating addresses.

You can make your offer on your website, on a forum or through a JV promotion. It doesn’t really matter what you do. The important thing is to start today so you can begin accumulating email address right away. You might be surprised how quickly it can all take place and the asset you’re left with can pay dividends for years to come.

Parenting classes for all stages of life

There are many stages of life that parents can attend parenting classes. The first set of parenting classes are usually taken to prepare couples for the tiny bundle that will be due in several months. The well baby classes are a preliminary course that teaches parents to change diapers and feed the child. These prenatal classes also help the couple enjoy the final days of privacy that they might have for many years.

The parenting classes also teach the parents about the nutritional needs that a growing baby needs. Many obstetricians recommend that new mother's breastfeed their children during the first few months of life. Some women take their parenting classes on breastfeeding very seriously and may choose to breastfeed their child until they are almost two years old.

These parenting classes also prepare mothers for the hectic feeding schedule that a new baby will set. It is rare to find a newborn that is content to sleep through the night when they are brought home from the hospital. The parenting classes will teach new parents about some tips that will help them to adjust their child's internal clock to a more reasonable time schedule.

Parenting classes will also prepare the father for several changes that will occur in the house once the baby comes home from the hospital. Many fathers are not aware that their wives will not be able to resume sexual relations for up to 6 weeks after they give birth, and if the birth was by a caesarian section, the length of time may be considerably longer if the incision fails to heal properly.

New fathers will also learn from the parenting classes that their wife might be tired a lot. This lack of energy might be caused by post partum depression or it may be caused by the radical feeding schedule that they must attend to during the course of a day. Many mothers learn from the parenting classes and make it a set policy in the house that when the baby goes down for a nap it is also time for mother to sleep.

Parenting classes can also help to develop a new circle of friends. New parents can converse and discuss the problems that they are facing with having a child in the home, and these discussions will be especially reassuring when the child begins to teethe or suffers from colic and wants to cry for hours at a time for no apparent reason. The most helpful parenting classes are the ones that provide literature that answers frequently asked questions.

How to choose colours for a website

When designing a web site, most of the web designers give attention to two major factors; the design, i. e. the graphics and logos of the site, and the content. However, colour too plays a very important part in the design of a website as it defines the mood and emotions of the visitor and reflects your identity and image branding.

Colour can be classified as a form of symbolism. This is why we often say a person is green with envy or perhaps red with anger. Colours play a great deal in affecting us psychologically and can thus stimulate our appetite and also suppress it. There are strong colours like red and orange, and peaceful colours like green and blue. So depending on the mood and scheme of the website, colours have to be chosen wisely.

Modern computers are capable of displaying millions of colours on the screen. However, web design is limited to only 216 colours as Mac computers and PC’s both use different colour palettes that are common to both. These 216 colours are considered to be ‘web safe’ meaning that the web site colours look fairly consistent on different computers, be it Mac or PC, different operating systems and even different browsers like Internet Explorer and Mozilla.

Choosing the correct colour scheme for your site can be selected from the various types of colour combinations there are. The monochromatic colour schemes use a single colour where different values of the chosen colour are used to create the feel of the different colours. These schemes are basically harmonious and peaceful as using a single colour creates unity and thus helps to create and tie things together. Visually appealing schemes created by using colours that are related, but not the same, are called analogous colour combinations. Examples of analogous colour schemes are a selection of blues and purples or of reds and oranges. While two colours can be used in an analogous colour scheme, one colour is usually used as the dominant colour in the website while the others are considered to be accents. Colours that are opposite are used for contrasting colour schemes that are complimentary and pleasing to the eye. For example, yellow and green and purple and pink can be considered as contrasting colours. Contrasting colour combinations needn’t be ones using startling and obvious colours as new combinations too are pleasing to the eye. However, there is a word of caution to be kept in mind while using contrasting colours in the website. Usually the eye has difficulty focusing on contrasting colours at the same time. So it is always better to use contrasting colours for your accents and to avoid using strong contrasts as background and type colours. Then there is the triadic colour combinations which are colour combinations with three opposing colours. Red, yellow and blue make a great triadic colour scheme. As in contrasting colour combinations, it is not advisable to use full strength and startling colour combinations in triadic colour combinations. Instead, using a more subdued value of one or more colours very much help in creating better readability for the site.

Colour is all around us, in nature, furnishings, cars, and in the hundreds of designs we see in the web and in print. When you happen to see a colour combination that thrills you, just jot it down and save it for the future as you may never know when you may need it for the colour scheme of your website!

Destinations for Romance on Your Honeymoon

If you've decided on the wedding date, location and even theme, you might be wondering what's next. Why, you've got to plan the honeymoon, of course! Choosing a place to spend your first days as man and wife can be just as important as planning the wedding and even more fun

Combine the words Hawaii and honeymoon, and you get romance in the language of love. Millions of people from the United States and other countries flock here each year for honeymoons. The islands of Hawaii - which include the Big Island (Hawaii), Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Oahu and Kauai – are the perfect location for your dream honeymoon. The smaller islands of Lanai and Kauai are especially so and less crowded than the more popular islands of Oahu and Maui.

One excellent choice for your Hawaiian honeymoon stay is the Hanalei Bay Resort, located in Princeville, Kauai. This resort offers suites and regular rooms, with either breathtaking ocean views or beautiful mountain vistas. Golf courses surround the resort, and nestled within the property are two waterfalls. You can even have your wedding here as well, if you'd like to have a destination wedding!

Another location that oozes romance is the Caribbean. This area of the world offers many different resorts and islands to choose from, but they're all infused with the exotic feel of the tropical climate, as well as the warmth and charm of an island getaway. One great place is the Sandals Royal Bahamian Spa Resort in Nassau, Bahamas. This all-inclusive resort offers the best spa in the Caribbean according to Condй Nast Traveler magazine, and is known as the Caribbean's most elegant resort. A honeymoon here means you don't have to carry cash or pay extra for anything, and a wedding ceremony is even included in the price of your stay! (There is a seven night minimum stay for the free wedding.)

There are many honeymoon spots to choose from when it comes to romance, and it would be impossible to highlight them all. Just remember that when choosing a location, it's important that you find the place romantic and relaxing. Don't book your honeymoon somewhere on the advice of anyone else, be sure to select a resort that's right for the two of you - it's your trip.

A dictionary of horse racing terms - a

Age:

Horses all have the same birthday no matter the exact date of the foaling.

This is set in order to allow the configuration of races according to age groups. The date is set as 1 January each year in the northern hemisphere.

Until 1834, the fixed date was 1 May, in line with the end of the foaling season.

The next year the official date was shifted for New market horses, to the present one, which occurs before the foaling season has properly started.

The majority of races on the flat are for two year olds only, or for three year olds only, with a fair proportion also confined to three year olds and four year olds only, or three year olds and upwards.

A horse of either sex before its first birthday is known as a foal; between that date and its next birthday it is called a yearling.

All Weather:

Not exactly All Weather in that horses still cannot race in fog. The surfaces are synthetic and the courses are currently at Lingfield, Southwell and Wolverhampton. They do provide protection against the frost.

Introduced in 1990 it was mainly aimed at offsetting the losses made by the Levy, which were being caused by the canceling of race meeting through the winter periods.

There was a problem early on with the number of horses killed during hurdles races, but since then it has become well established and has its own set of followers and advocates.

The performances are generally not as good as on turf, but some horses really appear to do well on it.

The surface at Lingfield is made up of hard graded sand which is then covered by a polymer and this produces a sort of cushioning effect. It is known as Equitrack and allows water to run off of it, as oppose to more traditional All Weather surfaces which allow rainwater to run through them.

Ante post betting:

This is a type of betting which occurs days, weeks or months before a big race, as oppose to the traditional sort of betting which takes place only in the few hours before a race.

There have been various suggestions for the origins of the term, but when one looks at early pictures and studies the history of races, one can see that bets were usually struck on New market Heath around what can only be described as “Betting Posts”.

So, to transpose one could say that betting “ante-post” was to make a bet similarly as one would today but before the normal betting which occurs in the few hours before a race.

The sort of races that generate a lot of betting pre race are the big races, the classics, for example the spring and autumn doubles, or the real classics like the Grand National and the Ascot week, big festivals at Goodwood, York, Cheltenham.

Bookmakers put up their prices long before these events and they attract plenty of trade.

With some races such as the Derby or the Guineas, wagers are made up to a year before the race itself. A large attraction is that the odds available can be much longer than what is offered on the day.

It seems however that even though ante-post betting is beneficial to punters, bookmakers still find it a profitable form of betting to employ, despite the losses, otherwise they would not do it.

A new form of ante post betting is where bookmakers offer “early prices” on the day of a big race. Like the more traditional ante post betting the attraction appears to be that a lot of these “early prices” are longer than what are available immediately before the race.

This has given rise to a new form of betting known as arbitrage, whereby, utilizing the lay facilities of Betfair, early back prices can be taken with online bookmakers offering longer odds, and then laid off on the betting exchanges as the price contracts in the immediate pre race offering a risk free bet which can then be greened up.

This strategy tends to work only with strong favorites but can be quite profitable.

It’s a little slow for me.

Apprentice allowance:

Jockeys who have ridden fewer winners are allowed a weight allowance to compensate for their lack of experience. This weight is then removed from the total weight a horse is set to carry in a handicap, except in races which are allocated for apprentices only.

In big handicaps trainers are always on the lookout for talented apprentice jockeys, because they can give a horse a huge advantage. Their inexperience is more than offset by their weight allowance.

They do not do particularly well against senior jockeys on courses that are tricky to negotiate and require a certain level of experience and skill. Race meets at Epsom or Ascot and Goodwood never appear to be great hunting grounds for apprentices.

At the post:

When a horse arrives at the point from which the race is set to be started then the horse is said to be “At the Post”

Auction race:

These races are reserved for two year olds only where they have never yet won a race. They are bought as one year olds from a set of specific public auctions.

Counting cards in blackjack

Blackjack is a game that is geared to the house or dealer in a variety of ways. A player must go first and if they go bust their stake goes to the dealer even if he or she subsequently goes bust. Players have always tried to find a way to beat the system and card counting in blackjack is one of the most common strategies used.

Card counting is a system or strategy used mostly in blackjack games, it takes a lot of practice to do however it can be used in other card games. The principal of card counting has been around since live blackjack started, and as soon as the game moved online as soon so did the card counters. Card counters try to memorise the cards that have come out so they can lower the casino edge by having a good clue which card will come out next, hoping to eventually memorise the order of each card in the deck. For example knowing if all of the high cards already been dealt out would logically lead you to believe the remaining cards are of lower values.

Card counting was often easier during an online game as no one was watching you as long as you are quick to memorize the card or write it down - games give a limited amount of time to respond with hit or hold. Many have used this to their advantage and learned online before taking their skills into real casinos.

This is a risky strategy to use in a land based casino as unlike virtual casinos staff will be on the look out for card counters and though not illegal the casinos owners may ask you to leave.

So how has the latest gambling craze live webcam games responded to prevent players counting cards. Common methods include using multiple packs of cards, splitting the deck into 2 and shuffling them far sooner than it would happen during a game in a real casino. Casinos can often deliberately hide the remaining decks to put off card counters.

It must be noted that card counting takes effort but is it rarely worth it; firstly you have to have a fantastic memory, and statistically it gives a 1% advantage to an experienced player under the best circumstances. Yet this is still not enough or only just enough to cancel out the house advantage in most cases.
